He was divorced, i don't think most divorces are happy occasions. He was very heavily in debt. Most people in debt are not happy. He used prostitutes and did not have a normal relationship with a woman. He was ill for 10 years. He retained alot of fluid and was bloated for about a year, he actually died once and was resusitated in the ambulance. He was refered to a psychiatrist. It doesn't strike me as happy, nor did it when we shared a beer in an empty pub before he was told he was dieing and he cried. So embrace your freedom with some limits. If you have limits you have mind control.

My brother, not only gave up JW's he lived a life of wine and women he ran businesses he gambled. He would wait and see if there was anything later. That's not Christianity. That's freedom to die. Too much freedom can be a bad thing. He lived to enjoy his life. He did. He told his heart specialist he did. It just wasn't long. I don't think Christianity would have hurt him as much as living for himself, do you?

Terry,

The last ten years of my brothers life he said "I lived it as I wanted too" he died at 40. He didn't die a happy man. Turning away from Christianity meant he was still enslaved to the control of his sinful desires which killed him. His freedom cost him.

i am so inlove with this woman.... we have been dating for six months and she is finally starting to let me in.

she is the portrait of sweet country feminitiy and i am a masculine little macho but smart and sweet meat head.. she called me the other night having a panic attack.

well she texted b/c she couldn't talk.

When I suffered them for a number of years my doctor told me I could learn to control them as I was causing them. It was a mental fight to try and shift my thoughts to something positive and stop the locomotive that was heading my way, but so far I can control them. My dog helps me. There was a number of things that could trigger them. The hall was one at one time. Getting out of bed in the night. I had to change my sleeping pattern. And avoiding confrontation.

Why FAITH is actually a form of suicide

i once heard a psychiatrist explain suicide as the ultimate act of self-preservation.

sound weird?.

counter-intuitive as that sounds, he went on to explain why.. when all you value in life is threatened you do whatever desperate act that will preserve that value.. destruction of self stops the ......process.....of consciously losing.

What Stupid Things Were You Counseled For?

i've always been told that i have a very good personality, that i'm humorous, etc.. one elder called me over and said that i was "smiling too much".

the other elders talked to the elder who counseled me and he came back to say that i should be like i was .

I recieved counsel from the platform from the CO. I had grown a beard and no elder had spoken to me, I'd had it several months. The CO in one of his talks mentioned beards and how it was almost apostasy. It was taking a step out of line. (1980) Some elders after the meeting claimed it was in his outline they had a special letter from the society about apostasy and they didn't know and he didn't mean me. One decent elder confessed they had discussed it at the elders meeting and rather than talk to me felt it was better to allow him to single me out in such fashion. (and i was a nice brother at the time, who treated elders with respect)

what jehovah's witnesses get right is that the basis for christianity rests on scripture and the bible itself.. but, they only go just so far.

they stop at making you suspicious of bad things which have crept in to the bible through centuries of corruption.. the jw's unpack and deconstruct christianity j-u-s-t e-n-o-u-g-h for you to see the rats and spiders and cockroaches.

they quickly squeeze it all back together again repackaged.
